New Left sources: No guarantee from Mr Tsiara on farmers’ payments

“It is obvious that these people are not even able to handle the stressful situation”

“Farmers who are in despair waiting for payments cannot feel any more secure, after today’s examination of the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Kostas Tsiaras, at the Parliament’s investigative committee on OPEKEPE” state sources of New Left and add:

“The minister promised to pay some money at the end of the month on the condition that the action plan submitted by the government to the Commission will be accepted. He admitted, however, that contrary to the government’s announcements, the 415 million of the fine will be paid from the state budget and that the unduly paid sums return to European funds, as the New Left has repeatedly emphasized, and do not naturally go to honest farmers. For the rest, Mr. Tsiaras regurgitated the candy of timeless weaknesses. He also did not deny that his name is included in the new case file. It is obvious that these people are not even able to manage the pressing situation in the rural area much less to face the problems of the country. They are only interested in covering their tracks and covering up their scandals.”
