Over the weekend, mercury will reach up to 40 degrees, and this warm period is expected to be maintained for several days, alerting the authorities for the risk of fires.

An intense heat wave will hit the country from the weekend, with Clearchos Marousakis warning that next week will be particularly difficult, as temperatures will exceed 42 degrees Celsius.
Since Saturday and for the next few days the country will be found in a very hot air masses, with the thermometer reaching even 43 degrees in some areas. The most crucial period is expected on Monday to Thursday, when the heat is particularly intense.
Today the weather will be sunny, except for northern and northeast Greece, where local rains and thunderstorms will occur. Meltemia in the Aegean will be enhanced, increasing the risk of fire. The temperature will reach up to 39 degrees in Western Greece and 35-36 in the rest of the regions.
