OR IKEAcompany of the Fourlis Group, inaugurated yesterday (29.4.2025), the IKEA Heraklion store, in Nea Bodrum, Heraklion, Crete. The new store is housed in the Top Parks Shopping Park Heraklion, on the old Heraklion – Agios Nikolaos Highway, in the two Aorakia, next to Nikos Kazantzakis Airport and is the 7th large IKEA store in Greece.
With a total area of almost 10,000 sqm, the new IKEA store offers a comprehensive shopping experience. Visitors have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of products, draw inspiration and find solutions for their home and business, and can benefit from services that meet all their needs.
It is worth noting that from 2013 until recently, there was a Center for Orders and IKEA receivers in the same area, serving the needs of the local community. The transition to the operation of a new larger store marks a new chapter for the presence of IKEA in Crete.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Vassilis Fourlis, President of the Fourlis Group, Mr. Dionysis Firosianos, Store Operations Manager of IKEA, his Executive Officer Håkan Emsgård, Swedish Ambassador to Greece, was addressed. Mr. Michalis Vamvoukas Vice -Mayor of Entrepreneurship and the Deputy Mayor of Finance & Tourism Mr. George Agrimanakis. It was followed by the store by the Archimandrite of Dimitrios Archimandrite, followed by the cutting of the ribbon by Mr. Fourlis and the Swedish ambassador to Greece, while the guests had the opportunity to tour the new store.
The new store features over 6,000 readily available products and offers all free services, such as kitchen and wardrobe design, home and click & collect furniture tips, as well as assembly and transport services, enabling visitors to complete their purchases with ease and comfort.
In the new store, there is also a Swedish Swedish Deli restaurant with warm and cold shop enjoyment as well as packaged products for enjoyment at home, offering the visitor a complete IKEA experience.
Sustainability and energy efficiency are key pillars of the design of the new store, as the building is equipped with photovoltaic panels on the roof, charging points for electric vehicles and Energy Class A devices, helping to protect the environment and enhance energy efficiency.
From today until Saturday, May 3, there will be unique actions with gifts, competitions, as well as many surprises and offers, especially on Saturday with even more children’s activities, cooking lessons and loved ones.

Swedish Ambassador to Greece, Håkan Emsgård in his address, said: “IKEA is a company near my heart. It comes from my own area of Sweden, Småland – an area of creative and working people. IKEA is a global company with a strong local presence and I am sure that its expansion here in Crete will have a positive impact on the local economy.
