Decrease 5.7% recorded new recording business (Business Operations) in Greece in the first quarter of 2025, reaching 36,909, compared to 39,128 in the corresponding period of 2024, while increased by 6.1% compared to the fourth quarter of 2024 to 34,784, according to its data ELSTAT.
At the same time, business bankruptcies amounted to 71 in the first quarter of 2025, increasing 14.5% compared to the first quarter of 2024 that had risen to 62, as ELSTAT data show.
Based on the demography of business from ELSTAT, for the areas of economic activity with the highest contribution to the overall turnover, according to data from the Statistical Registry of Business in 2022, an increase in the number of new business registrations, in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the first quarter of 2024, it was recorded in the “Transfer and Storage” sector (15%”and 15%” (15%) (15%). Power, gas, steam and air conditioning ”(2.7%). The largest decrease was recorded in the construction sector (25.2%) and in the “processing” sector (18.4%).
The areas of economic activity in which the largest number of new business registrations in Greece in Greece have noted are:
- Northern Greece: “Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries”, with 1,331 records of 8,447.
- Central Greece: “Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries”, with 2,313 registrations in a total of 8.106.
- Attica: “Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities”, with 2,606 registrations in a total of 14,932.
- Aegean-Crete islands: “Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries”, with 1,371 enrollments of 5,424.
The areas of economic activity in which the largest number of new business registrations were recorded in a legal form of business are:
- Individual businesses: “Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries”, with 5,734 registrations in a total of 23,619.
- Personal Enterprises: “Activities for accommodation and catering services”, with 1,897 registrations in a total of 7,724.
- Capital Enterprises: “Real Estate Management”, with 130 registrations in a total of 439.
- Other legal forms: “Real Estate Management”, with 935 registrations in a total of 5.127.
