Marginal, and acceleration, for Greek inflation In July, with the food In fact, lead the price race.
According to the Eurostat report, inflation in Greece “pinched” 3.7%from 3.6%, while the rest of the eurozone remained unchanged at 2%. Foods, such as the European Service, together with drinks and tobacco, “gasped” by almost a percentage point.
More specifically, the food price index increased to 3.3% from 2.4% in the previous month. Industrial goods increased at the same rate as June, ie 1.3%. The energy was high in 0.7% from 2%, while services increased marginally slower, but again at a high rate of the tourist season (5.2% in July from 5.4% in June).
Even more worrying is the image of structural inflation (excluding energy and food) as acceleration from 3.7% to 4% was recorded. It should be noted, this is the index that the ECB takes the most.
At the same time, annual inflation in the eurozone stood at 2% in July, remaining stable compared to June.
Regarding the basic ingredients of inflation in the eurozone, the “food, alcohol and tobacco” category is estimated to record the highest annual growth rate in July (3.3%, compared to 3.1% in June), followed by services (3.1%, against 3.3%) energy (-2.5%, compared to -2.6% in June).
