The San Antonio Spurs beat the Dallas Mavericks 125-92, with Victor Wenbanyama to look unstoppable and imposing, in this year’s premiere of the two teams in NBA.
In his return to action, Victor Wenbanyama finished the game with 40 points, 15 rebounds and 3 blocks, turning in another impressive performance.
The French international forward/center is back in action after the shoulder throbbing problem that sidelined him in February of last season (note he didn’t even play in Eurobasket).
In another NBA premiership matchup, the Sixers edged out the Celtics 117-116 in a thrilling premiership finale. Tyrese Maxey scored 40 points, leading his team to a late upset in Boston.
VJ Edgecomb made an impressive debut, scoring 34 points, a record for a player in his first NBA appearance since 1959, when the legendary Wilt Chamberlain scored 43.
