“This bill is not a cure. It is aspirin for a galloping disease that threatens our national existence, “said the president of victory, among others. Dimitris Natsiosspeaking to Parliament during the discussion of the draft law of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum about “reforming the framework and procedures for third -country citizens”.
Mr Natsios estimated that the bill’s arrangements are very difficult to implement in practice and argued that “we should at all costs to clash with European Union policies on this issue, with other healthy voices in Europe.”
He continued acknowledging that “there are indeed arrangements that are moving in the right direction”.
“We agree with the abolition of the shameful regulation that the Samarra government had introduced for the first time in 2014 to legalize illegal immigrants after 7 years of staying in the country. We had first pointed out to you the need to abolish this regulation when, two years ago you had also brought the unexplained regulation of the legalization of illegal immigrants who proved three years of stay in the country (Article 193 Law 5078/2023). We had told you that your policy is giving the traffickers to the traffickers to channel the migratory flows to Greece, “the victory president said and continued.
“Unfortunately we were confirmed. In 2021 we had 28,000 asylum applications. In 2024 approximately 74,000 applications, 22% increase in immigrant flows in 2024, further increase [1%] In the first seven months of 2025. How many of those who entered the country illegally re -established? Few. How many have been referred to justice for illegal entry into Greece under criminal legislation that has been in force for many years? Almost no one. Your immigration policy has been bankrupt. But at the moment some were enriched on the country’s backs, “Mr Natsios said and cited public procurement data.
“In the five years 2020 – 2025 the Ministry of Immigration signed contracts of more than 2 billion euros. To give a class of size, at the same time, the Ministry of Culture launched contracts of approximately 660 million euros. “
Concluding, Mr Natsios referred to the main axes that make up his party’s positions to address the problem.
“The basic doctrine is discouraging -and preventing illegal entry and expulsion to countries of origin.”
He proposed the “imposition of the lifelong penalty on the stars, the application of the provisions of the law to illegal immigrants and to those who support them, as well as to expressly allow renovations as an elementary measure of national integrity and dignity”.
“The bill does not give any practical solution and a convincing answer. It does not put any barrier to the unstable non -governmental organizations that, according to Article 17 of the Bill, can threshing the detention centers of illegal immigrants and to blame each government. It does not answer the major issue of increasing returns and punishment of countries that do not cooperate for these returns, nor in the fact of the country’s population replacement and demographic. “
