N. Iliopoulos: Mr. Mitsotakis is clearly in the frame of criminal responsibilities, but the deposition at this time leads to acquittal is leading to acquittal.

“Mr Mitsotakis is clearly in the frame of criminal liability, but the deposition at this time is leading to the vote and closure of the case,” he said in an interview with RES-EIA, his parliamentary spokesman and spokesman for the New Aristotle. SYRIZA-PS for pre-trial investigation that will include the search for the prime minister’s responsibilities. Concerning the OPEKEPE case, N. Iliopoulos notes that “for the festival set up with public money it is responsible for all the leadership of the responsible ministry by Mrs Voridis until today”.

Following is the entire interview of Mr. Iliopoulos on RES-EIA and journalist Christina Vassilakis:

Q: The government presented the abolition of OPEKEPE as a historical decision that would clear the “sensitive” landscape of subsidies. What do you think should be done to not repeat this?

A: OPECEPE’s example is no exception, corruption is the rule for Mitsotakis. The vast majority of public procurement progresses through direct assignments, and even in the case of the ND propaganda mechanism there is a huge triangular scandal. Let me say that Lepen’s condemnation was done with 1/10 of the data compared to what we know about ND today. But the case of OPEKEPE is indeed negative. Corruption and waste of resources at the same time deprives the necessary aid from real producers. It is outrageous at the time we see the waste of millions and the risk of huge fines, farmers and breeders struggling without any support and primary production having the most shrinking in the EU countries. The answer that Mr Marinakis gave, of course, that everything is responsible for low -level officials is reminiscent of the methodology “for everything is to blame”. A government that is constantly invoking a coordination and control state, in any negative development, expels responsibility on it. At the moment the crucial for us is not to lose a single euro for those who really produce. The problem starts with political leadership and only with substantial political change can be addressed.

Q: Given that the new Left will not submit a proposal with SYRIZA, what are the plan and expectations of the new left in terms of Tempi pre -trial trial?

A: ND is trying to set up a responsibility for both Mr Mitsotakis and Mr Karamanlis. He refers to K. Karamanlis only for a misdemeanor and even exclusively for breach of duty. At the same time he has made it clear that he will vote against any other proposal. Here is the crucial of our own proposal: the vote against both Mr Karamanlis ‘proposals and Mr Mitsotakis’ criminal responsibilities leads to the closure of the case with today’s data. The only way the Judicial Council can return the case file to Parliament and seek further prosecution for other offenses or other persons is that the corresponding proposals in Parliament have not been voted against. For us, Mr. Mitsotakis is clearly in the frame of criminal responsibilities, but the deposition at this time leads to the vote and the closure of the case, that is, leads to acquittal. For this reason, we argue that the forces of the democratic opposition obviously must be placed on criminal responsibilities but not submit proposals to vote, not enable the ND through the vote to lead to the closure of the case. But to get back to the big picture, ND was forced to proceed with these processes under the pressure of society and the great mobilizations. It is clear that there is a majority in the House that will serve at all costs, the road is to increase social pressure so that this costs become unbearable for the ND and lead to a different majority.

Q: We saw a joint four -party initiative for Gaza. Do you think such collaborations can have a positive impact on the world of the Left?

A: The question of genocide in Palestine is not a matter of left is a matter of humanity. We cannot monitor the extermination of an entire people in live broadcast and do nothing. The government has chosen a cynical, slave and inhumane stance on the far -right Netanyahu government. Mr Mitsotakis was not ashamed to visit the Netanyahu’s International Criminal Court. Obviously there are many questions about Mr Mitsotakis’ attitude and his relationship with Israeli interest companies such as in the example of predator surveillance and the agreements made in the field of equipment. At the same time, the government’s policy is particularly dangerous because when you accept and support those who violate international law in the case of Palestine, how can you reliably invoke international law in other cases? Obviously, the non -signing of the announcement by PASOK is a negative development, at a critical time PASOK chose the logic of equal distances as if it were giving the ND government. The crucial now is to increase pressure on the government to condemn genocide, interrupt trade and military relations with Israel, and to recognize the Palestinian state. Let us not forget that at this time Greece is a non -permanent member of the UN Security Council, so our country’s positioning has a special burden. We cannot allow the shame of government policy to be ashamed of the country. Palestine must live with peace and freedom.

Q: The time of the conference, both SYRIZA-PS and the new left, is approaching, and it seems to be a one-way re-evaluation of the relationships between them. Do you think there will be developments?

A: There is objectively the need for initiatives both for the reconstruction of the Left and to set up a truly reliable alternative proposal to the regime of looting and authoritarianism we live in today. This process goes through the program dialogue. The new left from the first moment is clearly talking about a new folk front. But let’s be specific: a country that intends to spend € 28 billion on equipment in the coming years there is no way to make the necessary investment in infrastructure and the welfare state. When you agree with the military spending of the Mitsotakis government objectively you do not leave room for policies such as health and education support or the reinstatement of the 13th and 14th salaries for public employees. At the same time, net solutions are needed on the tax issue, it is inconceivable today to tax employees with the minimum wage and the dividend taxation is at 5% or the banks still under the deferred tax regime. There is a need for real taxation not only in the superstitious but overall in profitability and wealth. The progressive proposal is not the “less taxes” but the fair taxes. Finally, a clear rupture is needed with the real estate model implemented by the government. A model that treats the country as a field for destroying the environment, plundering natural resources and exacerbates the housing crisis. It is not possible to refer to the climate crisis and at the same time supporting projects such as the regeneration of the TIF that will carry 100,000 sq.m. Beet meters in the city center instead of a large metropolitan park. The new Left through its conference will propose a specific political framework on which we will discuss the necessary social and political alliances. A program that will give power to the world of work and the social majority and against the privileges enjoyed by the elites today.

Q: As far as the publishing is concerned, we see a clear shift in the world to the “unconstitutional parties”, welcoming the way they are opposed. How do you think this path can be stopped on the road to the elections?

A: The term anti -systemic parties I am afraid that it is more obscured than helping the discussion. It is like the use of the term “populism” used as a candy by the dominant forces for both parties that challenge neoliberal domination from a progressive perspective and for the far -right. And the fact that today’s sovereign forces have no problem working with far -right parties and adopting their policy, many times their political staff as they did with Karatzaferi’s central executives from the ND shows the tool use of the term. For us, the crucial is that the social majority are looking for a way out. The huge mobilizations on 28 February prove. There is today a great social rift and the job of the Left is to work with the popular world to process an alternative. On this path we will move not to find a balance of the political system, but to overthrow the current regime of looting and authoritarianism.
