At the Athens War Museum’s Memorandum of Cooperation Ceremony with the Imperial War Museum, today, Friday, April 4, in London, the Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias.
The Memorandum was signed on the part of the Athens War Museum by the Chairman of the Board of Directors Vice -Commander Ea. (I) Konstantinos Karamesinis and in terms of Imperial War Museum, General Manager and Managing Director of the Board of Directors, Karo Hagoel.
As announced, the ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador of Greece to the United Kingdom Ioannis Tsaoussis and delegations of the two museum boards of the two museums.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to facilitate the cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experience between the collaborating museums in the following areas:
- Organizing joint exhibitions and exchanges of exhibits.
- Enhancement of museum and cultural research
- Development of Educational Programs and Education Provision
- Exchange of conclusions about the best museum management practices.
With “Agenda 2030” they change “all in the Greek Armed Forces” and in the changes “includes something we are very proud of: our war museums, and especially the War Museum in Athens,” Mr. Dendias stressed.

“With this effort, the Imperial War Museum will give us know -how and allow us to present our exhibits and our history in a new way to exert even greater charm, especially in the new generation of Greeks,” he added.
“It’s a first step in a completely new approach. There is a second step. We will try to create a Greek presence in Rimini, Italy, where the Sacred Lodge fought and in general to be able to show our story that we are proud of in the younger generation of Greeks, but also in the new generation of Europeans, ”concluded Mr. Dendias.
Earlier, the Minister of National Defense met with Archbishop of Thyatira and Great Britain Nikita at the headquarters of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese in London.

“Greece reiterates its basic position on the protection and promotion of children’s rights, as well as the elimination of any form of violence and abuse against them, especially in times of conflict,” the Minister of National Defense said.
“Greece will also prioritize the impact on violations that have been committed against children in armed conflict. We emphasize both prevention and rehabilitation, through an effective functioning of judicial and out -of -court mechanisms of children, and by actively promoting strong synergies with international partners taking into account and express the real needs of children, ”concluded Mr Dendias.
