Authorities have arrested five people, including the former wife of the victim and her partner, for the cold assassination of 43 -year -old Polish professor in Agia Paraskevi. The case reveals a complex plan, with the 35 -year -old confessed perpetrator taking full responsibility, although the evidence shows the involvement of more persons.
Motivations and arrests
The assassination of the professor on July 4, which initially showed amateurish, quickly revealed personal and financial differences as a major motivation. Immediate mobilization of homicide has led to the delineation of the case, thanks to the mistakes of the perpetrators.
The 43 -year -old ex -wife of the victim was arrested as a moral perpetrator, and her 35 -year -old partner as a physicist. In addition, three foreigners – two Albanians 16 and 24 years old and a 30 -year -old Bulgarian – were arrested as accomplices. Although the 43 -year -old denies her involvement, the authorities have incriminating evidence, including deposits referring to her as a funder of the project. The lawyer of the physicist insists that his client fully assumes responsibility, refusing the existence of an organized plan and acquitting the ex -husband.
The backdrop of tragedy
A year before the assassination, the Polish professor had sued his ex -wife’s partner for beating and threat. In addition to their personal differences, there were financial disputes that went by two real estate companies, which they had founded in America.
However, the court ruling that enabled the professor to take their two children abroad seems to be the drop that overflowed the glass and led to the murder, according to authorities. The 43 -year -old’s lawyer, however, argues that custody and nutrition issues had almost been resolved.
The “key” on the mobile and the role of accomplices
A key element that came to light from the 43 -year -old’s mobile phone investigation, which she handed over to the authorities, was a photo of the victim at the point of the murder. Officers estimate that this photo was sent to her partner to guide him to the “death tab”.
The negotiation with the three associates took place in Nafplio. The 35 -year -old allegedly knew a Bulgarian who brought him in touch with the two Albanians. Initially, the plan envisioned beating and threat, but the three associates refused to be this role. They agreed to help the transport and escape of the natural perpetrator, as well as the construction of the alibi, for a fee of 1,500-2,000 euros, which, as they argued, would be paid by the perpetrator’s partner.
The two cards and the escape
The first cartridge was set up in Chaidari, where the perpetrator and the two Albanians went with a luxurious rented vehicle. The perpetrator intended to kill the teacher there, but he didn’t catch up. So he set up a new cartridge in Agia Paraskevi, where the victim would go to pick up his children.
After the murder, the 35 -year -old fled a pedestrian, threw the gun and jacket into a trash can and then used a bus and taxi to reach Nafplio, hoping to create an alibi. Police found the rented car of the accomplices and themselves through security cameras. The Albanian associates, realizing what had happened, blackmailed the natural perpetrator, demanding 40,000-50,000 euros not to speak, with the moral perpetrator allegedly accepted to pay them, but did not catch up.
