After the new invasion drones near the Munich airport in Germany At dawn on Saturday (04.10.2025), flights began to be repeated after several hours of complete paralysis. The two corridors had closed Friday night, for a second time in less than 24 hours, due to the flight of two unrecognized drones.
According to German authorities, nearly 6,500 travelers were affectedwith dozens of flights diverted or canceled because of drones. Beds were installed at the terminal, while also shared blankets, drinks and snacks. “Opportunities are gradually restored,” a spokesman for the airport said, but warned that delays will take place throughout the day.
Reuters images showed passengers sleeping on the floor.

A phenomenon repeated
Already on Thursday night, drones had forced the air traffic to be temporarily suspended, with the result that about 3,000 passengers were excluded and 17 flights were canceled. The federal police, responsible for identifying and blocking, has not yet identified their machinery or operators. Suspicions are turning to foreign interventions, as some recent incidents in Europe have been attributed to Russia, which the Kremlin refuses.
In the face of an increase in incidents, German political officials are calling for a tougher reaction. Bavarian Prime Minister Marcus Zender (CSU) demanded “a clear rule: immediate downfall instead of waiting”, calling on the police to be able to dismiss any threatening drone.
Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrid (CSU) has also supported the need for a new Air Security Law, which will also provide for the army in defense against drones. As he said, the threat is increasing, as unmanned aircraft can now reach an opening of up to eight meters.
Toward a European plan against drones
The issue is expected to be raised this weekend in Munich, during a meeting of European Interior Ministers, initially dedicated to immigration. The aim is to formulate a joint strategy to identify and eliminate drones, while incidents multiply over critical infrastructure across Europe.
