At the Conference on Projects and Connectivity Investments in the Mediterranean organized in Nice Emmanuel Macronthe prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis He stressed that interconnections, electrical and digital, are the arteries of modern economies.
The Prime Minister made special reference to two projects: Gregy Interconnector- the electrical interconnection between Egypt and Europe through Greece- and the Great Sea Interconnector (GSI) -The electrical interconnection of Greece, Cyprus and Israel – which he described vital link in the chain of European energy market.
These projects, the prime minister said, are important for connectivity, but they are also of strategic importance to the European Union for an additional reason, stressed: that that involved European companies in their development.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasized that Freedom of connectivity of electricity and data through underwater cables is non -negotiable.
The prime minister underlined Greece’s support in the IMEC financial corridor, which would link India and the Middle East with Europe and reiterated Greece’s pursuit of cooperation with the countries involved in this flagship venture as a natural gateway to Europe.
