“What we see here today in Velestino is just one of the 160 Health Centers across the country that are renovated.”
The Velestino Health Center, which was fully renovated, with resources of the Recovery Fund, for the first time since the 1980s when it began operating, visited this morning. Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The prime minister, accompanied by the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, and the Deputy Minister, Irene Agapidakis, had the opportunity to see the new, upgraded areas of the Health Center and to talk to medical and nursing staff.
“I would like to congratulate the leadership of the Ministry of Health, the Commander, on the speed at which they managed and implemented this very important project for the wider area of Velestino.
What we saw today I think is talking on its own. Residents in the area know much better than me in what the health center was a year ago and I think they now see that they have a “jewelry” health center, with state -of -the -art equipment and with all seats covered or in the process of coverage.
And I think it is the best proof of the way in which European resources are used, especially the resources of the Recovery Fund, for the benefit of all citizens.
What we see here today in Velestino is One of the 160 Health Centers across the country that are renovated and delivered brand new and state -of -the -art for use in Greek citizens.
I think it is the best proof of the interest that the government shows in practice for health, especially for primary care. And let me stand here again to the great importance I attribute to the “Prevent” program, which has an increasing response from citizens.
I recall that the Ministry of Health is called the Ministry of Health and not a Ministry of Disease and we must prevent the disease before it occurs. And the best way to do so is by participating in preventive exam programs and if the non -generated programs are identified anything, beyond that we follow the instructions of the experts.
One last observation has to do with the need to support primary care structures especially in the region. There is a great reason for the demographic problem that our country is facing, to support the region. When citizens in the district feel that they have quality health services, then they will be much easier to stay in their place and we will be much easier to attract citizens to leave large urban centers and come to the region.
So again, congratulations on this very beautiful health center and unnecessary to be, but it won’t be for that and we made it. Thank you very much, “the prime minister said during his visit.
The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadishe said: “Mr President, about a year ago with Irene, Ms. Agapidakis, we signed the contract for the area’s health centers.
Here, in Velestino, the building was in a miserable state. It had been renovated for 40 years since the Health Center was built.
We are delivering you today – and in the world here of Velestino and the wider region – one of the most beautiful Health Centers in Greece, with all the forecasts of the protocols of health, fully equipped and full of staff to cover the wider area. “
The Deputy Minister of Health, Irene Agapidakisnoted: “President, we continue the effort, as you have set the goals to move forward immediately and by the end of the year we have 160 health centers renovated throughout the country.
At the same time, we establish 312 chronic diseases in order to be able to find these people we find with the “prevent” from having chronic diseases, we can and better guide them in community management. “
The prime minister was guided to the premises of the Health Center by the Commander of the 5th Health District Fotis Seretis, and the director of KY, Fani Sarigiannis.
Earlier, Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the Nea Anchialos Agricultural Winery “Dimitra”, whose facilities were completely rebuilt, with the support of state relief.
The prime minister, accompanied by the Regional Governor of Thessaly, Dimitris Kouretas, was guided by the President of the Cooperative, Yiannis Kitsios, in the two distilleries, wine and tsipouro, as well as in the storage and production areas of the Deputy Government, while the Deputy Minister of Agriculture
“You did a very great job. The government has supported cooperative groups, as we believe it is the future of the primary sector. Your cooperative has reached the 107th year of operation.
Indeed, you were wounded by a major disaster two years ago, but the obligation of the state, through all the competent bodies and, above all, state relief, is to stand close to our fellow citizens who are affected and as soon as possible to be able to go back to your feet, which you are happy Your great work, “the prime minister said.
“Here, as you know, we were destroyed two years ago. The Cooperative was reborn, and this was done with the support of yours, the Ministry of Rural Development, with state aid. Here we would like to thank the ministers, Mr. Triantopoulos and those who supported and helped us, because we were in the vintage, we did not put it down and we could do and did a vintage and today we arrived where we are, “the cooperative president said.
Then The prime minister had the opportunity to see damage works from the extreme weather “Daniel” and “Elias” on the road network and in a stream implemented by TERNA, in the framework of the Thessaly Infrastructure Restoration Program, and to be informed about the course of the work and their timetable for completion.
