Mitsotakis from Fourna Evritania: Telemedicine allows us all citizens to have exactly the same quality care

“These are the new health services we want to provide”

The capacity of the National Health System to cover “remote areas of our country with a physical presence and with a constant monitoring of the state of health of residents especially in the most remote areas” through the Mobile Health Groups was emphasized by the Prime Minister. Kyriakos Mitsotakis During a visit to the Mobile Health Team at the Community clinic in Fourna, Evritania.

The Prime Minister was briefed by Deputy Minister of Health Irene Agapidakis and the Managing Director of the National Public Health Organization (EDY) Dimitris Hatzigeorgiou for the services provided by the KOMIs, for the preventive examination programs that have begun to be implemented by Frangistas, the Agrafa Regional Practice and Karpenissi.

He then emphasized: “I am very happy about this new action of the mobile health groups, which is currently undergoing here, in Fourna, with the ability to cover remote areas of our homeland with a physical presence and with a constant monitoring of the most healthy areas of health. The minister talked about something I believe too: the removal of inequalities, especially the opportunity that technology is now given by citizens who live in the most remote areas of our country to have exactly the same quality care for their health. Telemedicine allows us to do this, for example, one can make an ultrasound from here and at the same time diagnosed by a center, in this case from the Keratsini Health Center. These are the new health services we want to provide, so that the citizens, wherever they are, from the emergency of the great hospitals of Athens to the most remote village of Evritania, can feel safe and that the state takes care of their health. “

For her part, Deputy Minister of Health Irene Agapidakis said: “We are in Fourna today with EDYY Health Teams and we have so far managed to take preventive exams, attend chronic patients and serving home older people. Mobile health groups will be here every month and from autumn we will be able to staff the rest of Evritania’s farm clinics through a new design we have and will have announcements in time. Apart from this, I would mention, President, that we have installed three telemedicine stations at the Frangista Health Center, at the Agrafa Regional Practice and of course in Karpenissi. Through them we have the opportunity, as today we have the telemedicine system here, to do remote exams various examinations, such as cardiogram, ultrasound, spirometry, and diagnoses by specialized doctors who are located at the Keratsini Health Center in Athens. Telemedicine is a new system that abolishes geographical inequalities, President, and for us it is very important because it reinforces primary wherever the inhabitants remain. “

Mobile Health Groups, as stated in a statement, is an initiative of the Ministry of Health that began to be implemented this year with the aim of providing health services to people who cannot visit health structures, such as elderly and people with disabilities, in the whole country, as well as preventive examinations. In particular, they conduct clinical examinations, on -the -spot measurements, extraordinary interventions, rapid detection tests and vaccinations, health promotion programs, and also contribute to preventive examinations under the “Prevent” program.

It should be noted that to date more than 2,000 citizens have been examined in 75 different regions of the country, and from September the KOMIs will cover the needs of the population systematically with 175 steps that are growing across the country.

In Evritania, mobile health groups have visited Agrafa, Raptopoulos and Prousos to date, and after Fourna, in July, it is scheduled to cover the entire regional unit.
