The Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection visited the Prime Minister in the morning, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

In view of the firefighting period, the Prime Minister and the responsible Minister discussed the protection measures from the fires this summer and the strengthening of firefighting media, as well as issues on the ministry’s agenda due to the climate crisis and the problems it has caused to the environment.

The prime minister stressed that “for 2025 we have the largest number of women and men in the Fire Brigade to express my satisfaction with the fact that the number of volunteers who offer their services is constantly increasing” and continued expressing his satisfaction with the fact that we “integrate the use of technology”.
“We have doubled the number of drones bases and I would like to thank the individuals who have helped us with this effort. At the same time, a very ambitious program of substantial upgrading of the entire equipment is the “AEGIS” program with the aim of significantly increasing the number of projects by the end of the year so that we begin to receive new equipment from time to time. ”
Kyriakos Mitsotakis then stood the very importance of cleaning the plots.
“700,000 citizens cleaned their plots and thus protected their possessions and helped the Fire Brigade in the fight against fires. The ministry decided correctly because of the climatic conditions to give an extension until June 15th in the process of cleaning the plots And to call on our fellow citizens to overcome last year’s number.
