Mitsotakis asked for immediate cease

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis participated in the teleconference of EU leaders convened by European Council President Antonio Costa and the European People’s Party leaders’ conference conference.

To accelerate Ukrainian security practices, Costa said

In his own position, the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa He talked about Ukraine’s security. “Now is the time to accelerate our practical actions to establish a guarantee similar to Article 5 of NATO, with the continued participation of the United States,” Costa said. However, he added that Ukraine’s army should be the “First line of defense”.

Costa noted that the main security guarantee – a key topic of discussion by Donald Trump’s talks with Vladimir Putin on Friday – must be the existence of armed forces capable of defending Ukraine’s sovereignty. He also referred to the need to promote trilateral talks – involving Trump, Putin and Volodimir Zelenski – and Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
