KYour alms ladies and gentlemen. For most of our fellow citizens, the short breaks of August may be approaching, but we know it well, our rhythms do not necessarily follow in the summer.
We are at the beginning of the second half of our term of office and this cabinet will have a slightly different character than the previous ones.
We obviously have important bills to process, perhaps with the more emblematic of the Code of Self -Government, which puts a class in chronic pathogens and overlapping responsibilities on the issues of self -government and introduces a new interesting electoral system for the way we are elected, and the first.
But today we will focus a little more on 25 priorities, basic reforms, which will also make the trunk of our government work from now on until the end of the year.
It is essentially a bundle of initiatives. One, two, some ministries – I consider the Minister of the Environment – have three major priorities, which must be implemented without delay, apparently alongside the current policies of each ministry.
It is very easy, you know, to succumb to the simple management of everyday life, and I know how heavy it is for each one and each one, but it is very important, at the level of a cabinet, to have a road map with specific goals and prospects and with a horizon of this year.
I will not mention all these important reforms, the Vice President and the Minister of State will present them, I will simply stand up to some of which I evaluate as particularly important.
The Ministry of Finance is obviously preparing for the announcements that will take place at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition, the new relief measures, the support of the middle class, but we insist on the battle for tackling tax evasion with new digital tools.
And, of course, in conjunction with the Ministry of Development, we are starting a very important effort that involves many of the relevant ministries to reduce bureaucracy, especially in businesses, by 25%. And of course, intensifying market controls through the Single Supervisory Authority, our goal is to make the state ever more and more effective.
The Ministry of the Interior will have to complete the revision of the Disciplinary Code of Civil Servants, which, as we have discussed, rapid procedures and serious sanctions in the event of errors at the expense of the citizen and rapidly processing cases, in months instead of many years.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport will present, we hope in the autumn, the first new examples of the new Greek railways.
At the Ministry of the Environment, which I mentioned before, I find three important priorities: one is a drastic intervention in the way urban planning operates. I believe this will be an iconic reform, which will “shut up” local corruption, but also accelerate the publication of legal building permits.
One issue that must be completed – not only the Ministry of the Environment, but also Ministries – is the special spatial planning for renewable energy, industry and tourism. There we will put a hard deadline. By the end of the year, all three of these special spatial plans must be completed.
And of course, the National Water Management Plan to tackle a crisis, which has unfortunately come to stay. The timetable of presenting this flagship initiative will be immediately after the Thessaloniki International Exhibition, apparently with a horizon of implementation that will be largely determined.
The Ministry of Digital Governance will complete the cadastral procedures. We also have strict timetables that we must adhere to.
The Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family. We need to look at the first writing samples in social consideration.
And for the Ministry of Health, which is launching many actions, let me point out the initiatives on the progress of digital projects, as well as mobile health groups, so that free preventive exams can reach every corner of our country.
I will not expand much more to the individual initiatives, because otherwise I will understand the presentation of the Vice President and the Minister.
Let me also say that we should have a sense of the importance of observing the timetables – this is a horizontal political direction – related to the recovery fund, reforms and projects.
2026 is a critical year for the completion of the Fund. You know well what the goals and timetables are and you know very well that the next 12 months will be completely decisive, so that not a single euro of resources we have secured with great effort and great effort.
