The checkbox is tightened

The most important element of Mr Plevris’ response is the government’s intention to change and do stricter the entire framework for NGO supervision and control.

Changes heralded move on two main axes:

  1. Stricter criteria for joining the NGO Registrywhich depends on the possibility of funding.
  2. Intensification of Management and Financial Controls In the already funded organizations.

At the same time, the minister reported his intention to change the framework so that they could be included in funding programs and other bodies other than NGOs.

The government stresses that checks (administrative and on -the -spot) are already implemented and in the event of irregularities, sanctions are imposed, such as amounts of amounts or even withdrawal of funding.
