Concerning housing, Domna Michaelidou stressed that the ministry, in cooperation with the other ministries, has designed a total of 40 projects worth 6.5 billion euros in implementation. “I mention this, because the housing is so important that it cannot be resolved in a magical way, nor with a program that will solve the country’s problem within six months or a year. Unfortunately, this is not possible. For this reason, the plan includes a set of 40 projects, sub -projects, reforms and facilities. The minister said: “Since Monday, March 31, we have implemented a significant reform in the benefit sector. Now, all the main benefits are given through prepaid cards. This concerns the minimum guaranteed income, birth allowance and foster allowance. Already 167,000 beneficiaries have received their prepaid card. In this way, we help fight tax evasion, seeking to enhance fiscal transparency and integrate more citizens into the banking system, a crucial goal for our economy. “
“Until now, many of these citizens, for example the beneficiaries of the minimum guaranteed income, have been paid through the ELTA, with the postman delivering home benefits.
