In particular, the meeting discussed the creation of an inter -ministerial committee, with the aim of optimal coordination of the Presidency and the Hykissos, as well as the preparation of a special digital platform, to substantially facilitate citizens, as they will have the potential for immediate and valid information on all politicians.
It was also decided to set up an observatory of housing policy, so that on a regular basis, per month, there would be official updates and government policy adapted accordingly.
Domna Michaelidou said: “Housing is not a technical issue. It is a deeply social issue and is the front of our social policy. It is a prerequisite for freedom, security and perspective. It is the foundation, the place where lives, families and dreams are built. And precisely because it is a key pillar of social security, the new measures we specialize today are coming to support our families, young people, students, and our most vulnerable fellow citizens. “
As noted by the ministry, the government responding to the pressing needs of the time, is implementing a cohesive framework for policies, with the aim of supporting both demand and boosting supply at the level offered real estate. This is proven in practice through the successful program “My Home”, the ban on new short -term leases in saturated areas, the “renovate – rent” program, as well as the social consideration of the exploitation of inert real estate, which will further enhance the new ministry.
Finally, the minister informed the prime minister about all ministry’s initiatives, such as policies for people with disabilities, promoting equality and dealing with domestic violence – with a typical example being the successful functioning of the Panic Button, to protect women at risk.
