over –57- kilos of hemp and -12- saplings cannabis were confiscated in Messinia. He was arrested for this caseor -1- person, against whom a drug case was filed. It is estimated that he would obtain monetary benefits, estimated at 75,000 euros.
The police found the industrial hemp he was growing exceeded the legal percentage of the psychoactive substance tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) for which it was licensed.

“He was arrested, yesterday (27.10.2025) in the morning, in the area of the municipality of Trifylia, by police officers of the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Directorate of Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes of Kalamata and with the assistance of police officers of the 2nd Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPKE) of Messinia, a 46-year-old citizen, in on the basis of which a case file was filed for violation of the drug legislation.
After appropriate utilization of information and evidence, it emerged that the arrested person was active in the production of quantities of industrial hemp which exceed the legal percentage of the psychoactive substance tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and which he hid for the purpose of processing and further trafficking.
In particular, as it emerged, the 46-year-old held a special license to cultivate industrial hemp and was the sole partner of a company’s greenhouse unit, in which on 30.7.2025 by the Department of Rural Development and Food of Messinia, sample checks were carried out, the results of which were that in the samples, the psychoactive substance tetrahydrocannabinol exceeded the legal content, for this reason the harvested product was destroyed.
In the context of the thorough police investigation and preliminary investigation carried out by the police, it emerged that the company had concealed from the employees of the Department of Rural Development and Food a large quantity of cannabis with the purpose of further processing it in powder form (Bubble Hash) using dry ice (ice water extraction method) as well as trafficking it.
Higher police officers, with the assistance of officers from the 2nd Crime Prevention and Suppression Team (OPKE) of Messinia, located the 46-year-old, in the area of the municipality of Trifylia, where he was arrested, while in searches carried out in the greenhouse, in auxiliary areas, warehouses as well as in his possession, the following were found and confiscated:
- –12- hemp plants, up to -30- centimeters in height,
- amount of cannabis, total weight -55-kg and -918-grams,
- amount of processed hemp in powder (powder), total weight -1- kilo and -374- grams,
- -2- scales,
- laminator,
- multitude of nylon packages,
- various devices for processing and preparing processed hemp and
- mobile phone, as a means of facilitating the commission of criminal acts.
It is estimated that he would obtain monetary benefits, estimated at -75,000- euros.
The arrested person will be prosecuted, while the police investigation and the pre-investigation work are carried out by the Narcotics Prosecution Department of the Kalamata Crime Prosecution and Investigation Sub-Directorate.
