German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz emphasized today Thursday, August 28, it is “obvious that there will be no meeting” in the near future among Ukraine presidents Volodimir Zelenski and of Russia Vladimir Putin.
“It is obvious that there will be no meeting between Vladimir Putin and Volodimir Zelenski as opposed to what was agreed between President Trump and President Putin,” said Chancellor Friedrich Mertz, with France’s president.
The French president welcomed Mertz for a work dinner in the Bregson fortress in southern France, where they made a statement to reporters before starting their conversations.
Mertz said that bilateral issues, such as the economic cooperation of the two countries, but also international, such as the situation in Ukraine and the reduction of bureaucracy in Europe, would be discussed.
