Mendiliber after Olympiacos – Twente: “Difficult to be in the 8th round of the Europa League”

THE Olympic failed to beat Twente at “Karaiskakis” and with a 0-0 draw in the 6th matchday of the League Phase Europa Leaguewas removed from the top 8 of the standings, as Jose Luis Mendiliber also admitted.

The two lost points of Olympiakos against Twente have already put them in a disadvantageous position for the 8th place of the Europa League and Mendiliber pointed out the difficulty of Piraeus to get direct qualification to the next phase.

Mendiliber’s statements

For the match: “The opponents were better than us, they were more comfortable than us. At no point in the game did we feel comfortable.”

For the duels won by Twente: “We weren’t going to claim the ball, like in the other games. We were restrained, and if you go restrained, the other will take advantage of it”.

For the standings: “At the moment it is difficult to qualify among the top eight, we have to collect points in the next two games. We are looking at Porto, a match that we will try to win”.
