Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, in her new statements to the press, again referred to the European Union’s agreement (EU) with the USAto determine new trade duties.
“I judge positively that agreement was reached, I believed and I continue to believe that a climax of the trade confrontation between JPA and the EU could have unpredictable and – by potentially – destructive consequences,” Meloni stressed.
At the same time, the Italian prime minister added that “the details of the agreement should be analyzed” because “the one signed in the general outline and is not legally binding. We need to find, for example, what may be exemptions, especially in terms of a number of agricultural products. At the same time, I do not know what we mean when we are talking about investment and gas market, “the head of the Rome government concluded.
From the opposition, the Secretary of the Central Left Democratic Party, Eli Slain, asked Georgia Meloni “to make it clear clear what steps to take to reduce all economic damage and to give new impetus to internal demand so that it can try to deal with it.” Slain also fought in favor of “joint investment by the European Union, with the aim of a wide plan for supporting industries, society and the environment.”
