A joint post was made by the official page of the White House and Donald Trump, on the occasion of the 55th birthday of the first lady. Melania Trump, born as Melanija Knavs in Slovenia, attended the US president’s side to Rome for the funeral of Pope Francis, who also took place today.
However, Donald Trump left Rome early after the Pope’s funeral to make her a romantic dinner at Air Force One for her 55th birthday.
The US president said he was too busy to buy his wife a gift and would have a meal on the presidential plane when they returned from Rome.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Trump acknowledged that a funeral trip may not be the idea of everyone for the perfect way to celebrate their birthday.

Melania Trump is a former model and wife of Donald Trump. He gained American citizenship in 2006 and became the first lady of the US twice: from 2017 to 2021 and again from January 2025, when Trump re -assumed the presidency.
She began her career as a model in Europe and moved to New York in 1996, where she met Donald Trump in 1998. They got married in 2005 and had a son, Baron in 2006.
During her first term as a First Lady, she focused on initiatives for children’s well -being and the fight against bullying. At the end of her term, she remained relatively distant from the limelight, and in 2024 she published her memoirs, offering personal memories and opinions on various issues.
