Mehmet Oz: Opra’s tele-fracture, in a “key” position for Medicare’s supervision

OR Senate confirmed today (04.04.2025) that the famous doctor and a former television star, Mehmet Oz, takes over the steering wheel of the organization that oversees the health care of millions of Americans.

Mehmet Oz, who has never taken over a public office, was chosen last year by Donald Trump to lead the Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) services center.

The 64 -year -old, whose advice is controversial, was trained as a surgeon before appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show in the early 2000s.

Health experts have in the past criticized the promotion of OZ drugs for weight loss and “miraculous therapies”, as well as the proposal that malaria medicines could be used as a treatment for COVID-19 at the beginning of the pandemic.

After choosing Oz to lead the CMS, Trump said in a statement that “there may be no doctor with more qualifications and abilities … to make America healthy again.”

Prior to his swearing -in, Trump’s transitional team said Oz would “work closely” with US Health Minister Robert Kennedy Junior to “face the industrial complex of the disease”.

The CMS oversees the country’s largest healthcare programs, providing about half a Americans.

It regulates health insurance and determines the policy that guides the prices paid by doctors, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies for medical services.

Oz was also a host of The Dr Oz Show, in which he offered tips, from 2009 to 2022.

But it was checked for the fact that it was a homeopathic, alternative medicine and other treatments that its critics called “pseudoscience”.
