The Vice -President of the Government, Kostis Hatzidakistoday welcomed in Rhodes the Chinese Prime Minister, Li Qiang, who will remain in our country for a few hours, heading to Brazil for the BRICS team.
During the visit, a meeting was held at the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights (Castello).
The debate has focused on the progress made in bilateral relations since 2006 and the signing of the integrated strategic partnership, a statement from the Vice -President of the Government said.
In particular, the Chinese Prime Minister referred to various aspects of these relations, with COSCO’s investment in the port of Piraeus and the expansion of the cooperation of both sides, especially in the field of tourism and cultural exchanges.
Mr Hatzidakis, for his part, noted the need for further cooperation to expand Greek exports to China and noted Greece’s interest in cooperation with China always under the rules set by the EU.
The Deputy Prime Minister said: “Greece and China, as two of the oldest cultures, have developed a stable cooperation relationship. This relationship will proceed with respect for Greece’s obligations to the EU and the Atlantic Alliance. Of particular interest to Greece will be to strengthen the cooperation for the promotion of Greek exports to China, as well as the strengthening of cultural exchanges and tourism. “
