THE Marko Grujic was called by Veliko Paunovic, after the serious injury that afflicted him, to the Serbian National Team and spoke to the media of his country about his return, but also about the AEK.
Paunovic’s return to the bench of the Serbian national team also marked the call of Marko Grujic, who was waiting for his return to the representative group of his country. The Serb spoke about the Serbian AEK players who are also on the roster of his national team.
Grujic’s statements in detail
For Serbs in the Union: “In the national team there are several of us from AEK, assistant coach Ača Rogić, Luka Jović, while my teammate in the team is also Mijat Gačinović, who was with us in the “golden” team of New Zealand. Unfortunately he couldn’t come now due to some technical issues.
At AEK we have created an excellent team, we are still at the beginning of the season, but I believe that when the time comes, we will be in the best possible condition and give joy to our fans”
On the call-up to the national team and working with Paunovic again: “I was really very happy when I saw my name on the list. I had read that Veliko Paunovic could take over the national team and in my heart I hoped that if that happens, I will also be in the team again.
It is a great honor to be back where I feel beautiful, among people I love. And of course it’s special to work again with the coach who led us to the greatest success in Serbian football.”
For the absence from the national team: “I missed him a lot. Every footballer dreams of representing his country. It’s great to see old friends again, faces that bring you positive energy. There are a lot of us who have come through the minor nationals and we are all looking forward to getting back on the pitch in the next two games.”
