Macron made the announcement late Friday night, a few hours after meeting with all the leaders of the main parties in the Champs -Elysees, with the exception of the leaders of the far -right and the far -left.
The president “gives a white permission to the prime minister,” said Emmanuel Macron’s associate.
Lekorni’s return is a surprise, as he had only stated two days ago that he did not “seek the position” and that “his mission is over”.
Sebastian Lekorni, who had already been appointed for the first time in early September, resigned unexpectedly last Monday after deciding that the conditions were no longer suitable for his role at the Prime Minister’s Palace, Matinion.

- The restoration of our public finances remains a priority for our future and our sovereignty: no one will be able to avoid this need.
- All ambitions are legal and useful, but those who join the government should be committed to disconnecting the presidential ambitions for 2027.
- The new government team should embody the renewal and diversity of abilities.

It is recalled that in a television speech on Thursday, Lekorni stressed that the goal of France’s budget, which will be presented on Monday, is to maintain the state deficit between 4.7% and 5% in 2026, compared to 5.4% this year.
This is a lesser effort than the one proposed in mid -summer by then Prime Minister Francois Bairou, who may be disputed by the amendments proposed by opposition parties to the French parliament.
