During a press conference on Wednesday (29.10.2025), Paris prosecutor Laure Bequio announced that the two suspects arrested had partially admitted their involvement in the robbery Louvre Museum at France.
The two men aged 34 and 39 yearswho participated in the robbery of the Louvre Museum, were presented before an investigator after four days of detention. According to the court official, one of the two was already on probation for another theft case and was known to authorities for grand theft cases.
The Paris prosecutor said that the two suspects are currently before the judicial authorities to be charged with “theft by a criminal organization”, an offense that carries a prison sentence of up to 15 years, as well as “forming a criminal gang”, which is punishable by ten years in prison.
She added that the prosecution has requested their temporary detention, until the process is completed.
Laure Becchio praised “the work of a hundred investigators who worked non-stop day and night” to identify the commandos and trace the stolen jewels, which remain unaccounted for so far.
Investigations are ongoing to establish whether the suspects belonged to an organized ring and whether some of the loot was channeled abroad.
Lor Becchio also stated that “at this stage, there is no evidence to suggest that the perpetrators had accomplices inside the museum.” As he pointed out, “nothing shows at the moment that the criminals had any form of help or cooperation from inside the Museum”, implying that the robbery seems to have been organized externally and with a high level of professionalism.
