The US is hoping for a wider ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine that will cover the Black Sea in the negotiations that began in Saudi Arabia. The debate on Sunday (23.03.2025) was “productive and targeted” and “dealt with key points, including energy,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umero said on social media. US and Russia representatives are expected to have separate talks today.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Ukrainian unmanned aircraft have largely eliminated the military effectiveness of the Russian Black Sea fleet, while the Russians have launched air attacks on Ukrainian cities-toes, such as Odessa. Ukraine has managed to safeguard its shipping roads, but Russia has complained that its own food and fertilizer exports have faced obstacles.
In an interview, President Trump’s head, Steve Witkov, welcomed the agreement earlier this month between Russia and Ukraine not to hurt each other’s energy infrastructure and said Trump was trying to close a two -country agreement. Whitkov praised the benefits of restarting Russian business bonds that had been largely frozen since the start of the war.
Moscow recently showed its interest in the last round of talks, including a high -ranking security official near Putin. In Riyadh, Russia will be represented by Grigori Karasin, who chairs the Federation Council of Foreign Affairs, the Higher Parliament of the Russian Parliament, as well as by Sergei Besnda, a federal security adviser.
“We will now talk about a sea ceasefire in the Black Sea, so that both sides can carry cereals, fuels and start trade in the Black Sea again,” National Security Advisor Mike Walts told CBS on Sunday.
Witten in his interview clearly made the Trump government’s desire for extensive ties with Russia, without interfering with details of security guarantees for Ukraine or the treatment of European fears of a military regenerated Russia in Epirus.
“We are thinking about how to integrate their energy policies into the Arctic, to share the sea streets, we may send gas gas to Europe together,” he said. “Who doesn’t want to have a world where Russia and the United States are working together and doing good things together?”
