Three people lost their lives and at least nine are still ignored after overturning a small vessel In the Pacific Ocean off the coast near California of USA.
At least 18 people were on the Panga fishing boat, which was overthrown near Torrey Pines State, according to US media based in San Diego, where the shipwreck occurred. At least two children were between passengers.
One survivor of the shipwreck told the rescuers that 18 people were on board when it was overthrown by the waves, said Jorge Sanchez, according to the NBC, said. The official said that at least four people were taken to local hospitals with an ambulance, but that it is not currently clear how many people are ignored.
The American Coast Guard said in a post on social media X that it is conducting an investigation to identify nine people who are missing off the coastal city of Del Mar, in California, about 32 km north of San Diego, after the report. The boat was found on the coast around 6.30am. (Pacific time).
Another survivor told the first people who reached the point that one or two children are among the missing, Coast Guard spokesman Hunter Snabel told San Diego Union Tribune.
Neither the Coast Guard nor the Fire Department of the city of Ensitita responded immediately to Reuters’ request for commentary.
