Seven people killed on Thursday (22.05.2025) when a small one crashed aircraft Cessna 550 in a residential zone in Like Diego of California, local authorities stressed.
The aircraft crashed at night (local time) over houses and carsthe local San Diego authorities announced.
“We believe there are seven dead,” said Dan Edi of the area’s fire department.
Victims appear to be passengers on the aircraft and not drivers in vehicles or residents in the houses who have suffered damage to the crash.
According to San Diego authorities, at the time of the crash there was a thick fog.
“As soon as you could see in front of you,” said Deputy Commander Dan Edi.
“The number of occupants is unknown at present,” the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had initially said in a statement.
“There are fuel everywhere,” as the fire authorities said, during a press conference. “Our main concern is to enter all the houses and get them all out immediately.”
For security reasons it was considered necessary to remove residents from several building blocks, as Deputy Commander, Dan Edi, made known.
