Another step to strengthen their bilateral relationships today (22.07.2025) Libya and the Turkey with the signing of a strategic agreement in the Civil Aviation.
In particular, the Haftar regime in Benghazi made a new “opening” in Turkey, signing an agreement with a Turkish company to upgrade eight airports in Libya.
Belkasem Haftar, General Manager of the Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund, signed contracts with the Turkish company “Albavvaba Hizmetleri Limited Sirketi” for the installation and installation and Upgrading Air Navigation Systems and communication, so much aerial as well as earthly, at eight airports across Libya.
The airports included in the agreements are Benghazi, Saba, Sirti, Ubari, Al Abrak, Martuba and Tobruk, As ‘Libya Observer’ reported.
The move is described by the Fund as a “important step towards modernizing Libya’s air infrastructure”.
In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the Fund described the contracts as “strategies”, aligning its wider plans to revitalize the Civil Aviation sector and upgrading navigation and communication systems at basic airports in the country.
