A 20 -year -old was seriously injured by hitting horse at a festival in village Pelopi of northeast Lesvos on Sunday morning (20.7.25).
According to reports, the 20 -year -old passing behind his own horse he had tied to the village square received a strong blow from it to the head.
He was transported and hospitalized with heavy craniocerebral injuries, in critical condition at Mytilene Hospital.
At the moment, the exact way the accident has occurred has not been officially confirmed.
Pelopi celebrates the Prophet Elias every year with one of the most famous traditional festivals of Lesvos, which also take place of horses. Horses cross the village square between the tables and the crowd, creating a striking and potentially dangerous spectacle if the safety rules are not respected.
