The light of publicity is seen by the videos showing the people who have attacked the Legal April 30th.
In the first video, it appears for a group of walking quickly on Solonos Street and then turn right on a pedestrian street on Marseille Street. Some of them have hidden their faces.
In the second video, another group appears to be moving from the Marseille pedestrian street to Solonos Street. So it seems that there are shots that can help to understand what happened and who were the ones who were attacking.
The timing of the attack
Scenes of raw violence unfolded at the Law School of the University of Athens on April 30, during an event entitled ‘Career Days’including, among others, professors Ioannis Mazis and George Filis.
About eight people, according to eyewitnesses, invaded the room with covered faces, holding fire extinguishers and improvised bats. The “impact group”, as described by the present, attacked an unpredictable and brutal student who allegedly attempted to protect participants at the event.
The student received multiple and severe blows, even with a fire extinguisher, and is admitted by ambulance to the hospital in critical condition. Professor Konstantinos Grivas was also present at the incident, who tried to help the victim and was attacked himself, but not seriously injured.
In the same incident, a victim of attack was reported to have fallen as well as Professor Yiannis Saridakis, while trying to intervene. The atmosphere in the room is described as nightmarish: voices, blood, bewildered students and teachers, with university space being transformed once again into a theater of trumpets and violence.
The attackers, according to police sources, are said to belong to the well -known anti -authoritarian area, while police have begun investigating, with the aim of identifying and arresting the perpetrators. The Postgraduate Student Student Association issued a condemnation announcement, and political reactions are expected in the coming hours.
The attack on law comes to add to a long list of similar incidents that tarnish academic dialogue and undermine asylum, turning universities into areas of violence and fear.
