The 72-year-old was sentenced to pre-trial detention on Wednesday (05.11.2025) after his confession coach volleyball at Laurelfor indecency with a 16-year-old female athlete.
He is a retired teacher, who was a coach in a women’s volleyball team in Lavrio, while also having a position as an agent in the union.
From the end of November 2024 to the middle of May 2025, the 72-year-old served as a minor.
At some point the girl “broke” and revealed to her parents everything that was happening.
After a relevant interrogation, the minor was transported accompanied by her guardians and T.D.E.E. police officers. Lavreotikis at the Independent Juvenile Protection Office “Children’s House”, where her judicial examination took place.
When the procedure was completed, a case file was filed against the 71-year-old and a relevant arrest warrant was issued by the 10th Regular Investigator of Athens, as it was.
The defendant denied what is attributed to him according to the indictment, namely that he sexually harassed the athlete for months.
