In cases where practical, undergraduate or thesis is required, the extension may be three semesters. It is estimated that the arrangement concerns more than 35.000 Old but active students.
Beyond this category, it was reaffirmed that Next September will be deleted inactive four-year students who in the year 2021-22 They had already exceeded the duration of their programs, as the four -year grace period was soon expiring.
As noted, Students who enrolled in the 1930s were currently remaining in the lists of public university HEIs, while the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s are tens of thousands.
In this way, among other things, the performance of Greek universities will be improved in many qualitative indicators, as people who seem to be unable to graduate for many years, while releasing administrative staff.
The meeting also examined the final provisions to be made in public consultation on the further shielding of security in public institutions, with the extent to the establishment of a mechanism for imposing criminal and disciplinary sanctions within clear time limits, the enhancement of accountability and the utilization of technology.
During the meeting the Prime minister stated: “With the provisions we discussed today, a very important reform will be immediately completed immediately, which we had proposed in our program for the New Greek Public University, as we perceive it.
We are essentially talking about a significant clearance of the lists of inactive students, many of whom are registered in the lists of public universities in the 1950s and 60s.
This clearance of universities’ lists will have very significant benefits to the qualitative characteristics of universities, to evaluation indicators, as for the first time we will have a meaningful picture of what students are really studying.
But I also want to dwell on the very important prediction for one last chance to those students who have shown that they are interested in completing their studies, but also in those provisions for students who may, for health reasons, have a distinct, distinct difficulty in completing them.
The arrangement, therefore, is perfectly balanced, but it also implements our central commitment to proceed with a absolutely necessary clearance of the lists of university students, making the distinction between inactive and active students, so that they can do so.
Finally, and on the occasion of the start of the new academic period, to say this: very often young children are coming, they consume which school to choose. I tell them to choose the school they feel that they fit the most, but to make sure, whatever school they choose, to make sure they finish in the scheduled time of the curriculum they have chosen.
And to do that, because life is in front of them. If you have to finish your schedule in four years, why waste time and end in the fifth, the sixth? You will not be able to finish afterwards, anyway.
