Lamia – Panaitolikos 0-1: A great double for Agriniotes

THE A pan-eater continued his terrible run in the Super League this year, winning away from home Lamias with 1-0, for the 14th game.

Panaitolikos’ winning goal was scored by Andrija Maidevac in the 15th minute, in a match with few good moments in front of both goals.

The club from Fthiotida does not say to raise its head and, in the event that Athens Kallithea FC wins Levadeiakos tomorrow (9/12), it will be at the bottom of the ranking. On the contrary, the Agriniotes show that until the end they will claim a European ticket.

The fight

Against the flow of the match, the “canaries” managed to open the score. Individual energy of Maindevacs who passed two opponents in one move and from close range had no difficulty in scoring for 0-1. Lamia tried to react immediately. On three occasions, Gustavo Furtado (21′, 23′, 33) could not find the back of the net while Lucas Chaves caught Anestis Vlachomitros (27′) in between.

On the other side, Maintevac’s header was off target (31′), while the back-heel of the Panaitolikos scorer five minutes later found Alvaro Raton ready. The first half ended with the header of Christopher Nunes who, after Giorgos Saramantas’ cross, although unguarded, sent the ball into Chavez’s arms.

The second half was a… monologue for Lamia who pressed the defense of Panaitolikos, but without being able to create “clean” phases. With a double effort, Chaves saved his goal in the 59th minute, while Furtado’s shot in the 64th minute went past the posts. The coaches made their moves but the scene hardly changed.

Sebastian Lomonako threatened for Panaitolikos in the 73rd minute, while in the 87th minute the hosts asked for a penalty, when the ball hit Giorgos Liavas in a shot by Nunes – the referee and VAR did not see anything objectionable. And since at the end of the 90′, Nikos Gotzamanidis failed to beat Chaves with a shot from the semi-circle of the large area, everything was over.

With 1-0, Panaitolikos got revenge for the first round defeat by Lamia – which remains their only one in the league – returning to success after two unsuccessful results. With 22 points, the team of Yannis Petrakis shows that they will be in the top five, while that of Leonidas Vokolos, with 9, will fight for their stay.
