What did he say about lifting civil servants’ permanence
From the next government priorities to the topic of the news (evaluation – removal of permanence, Tempi, etc.) the interview of the Vice President of the Government, Kostis Hatzidakis In the Sunday evening newspaper.
Asked, in particular, what are the government priorities until the ballot box, the Deputy Prime Minister replies: “A lot of work and reforms that will raise Greece even higher! This is our main goal and that is why we accelerate government work in all areas. We are therefore proceeding with reforms such as, for example, expanding state digitization, accelerating justice, further restriction of tax evasion. In the field of economy, we emphasize initiatives that will boost its competitiveness with the aim of having more investments and exports. “
And he continues: “In this direction, it will be very useful on the one hand to complete the Land Registry and the promotion of special and local urban planning plans. While of course we will fight the battle with the “deep state” with even greater intensity. My goal is to make bills on a regular basis, which will limit the discomfort of the state by the state. Further promoting the evaluation of civil servants is an initiative in this very spirit. “
On the occasion of the latter, that is, the evaluation, that is, Mr. Hatzidakis is asked about government intentions to remove the permanence in the State, in view of the constitutional review -and points out: “It is, indeed, a very important issue that we certainly cannot. I do not believe, of course, that there is someone who was surprised, seeing the high rates in favor of removing the legality recorded. In a recent interview, the prime minister pointed out that the New Democracy would propose a revision of the relevant article of the Constitution. At the same time, however, the government is taking significant steps in evaluating civil servants, which we should not overlook. Already in the evaluation of the Ministry of the Interior, the image of public administration has generally reflects. Not everyone gets excellent, as it was with SYRIZA. Few know, in fact, that from 2019 until today, about 1,000 civil servants have been fired because they were inadequate in their duties! In addition, with the questionnaire, citizens can also express their opinion on the subject. And there is still both the evaluation of patients from patients and the evaluation of education. All of this is initiatives that we have committed and we will do them! All those so -called progressives who stand against any truly progressive policy should be aware of this! “
In another issue and question about the return of the 13th -14th salary/ pension, the Deputy Prime Minister makes it clear that “there is no one who does not want to give large increases and additional salaries to civil servants and all employees and retirees. But the 13th and 14th salary and the 13th and 14th pension costs a total of about 8 billion euros! So, we had to find eight -fold money over the entire package of Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ initiatives last year at TIF! Also, as you know, there are very clear rules from the European Commission on the annual increase in spending. Such a choice, then, would lead us back to surveillance and new memorandums. “
On the contrary, “we are determined to continue on a path of prudence and seriousness, thus serving the employees and retirees in a much better way, than the demagogues who make everyone over everything. With our own government, after many years, pensions and salaries of civil servants have been thawed after many years. Our government has recently given the social development dividend, which concerns pensioners and tenants. And obviously our fellow citizens will continue to receive a growth dividend in both 2025 and 2026. I emphasize these, because we want with citizens to have a relationship of trust. “
While for the so -called “basket” of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition in particular, it reiterates the government’s direction for “direct tax cuts for all consistent taxpayers as a result of the growth and restriction of tax evasion”.
In the Tempe case and to the question of whether the government feels justified by the Karoni finding, he says that “there is no question of justification when you are dealing with such a tragedy. The question is truth and purification. And I think this finding helps in this direction. And it also contributes to returning to common sense! While at the same time, it proves that the only concealment attempted is to conceal the truth by the opposition, which with extreme cynicism adopted various conspiracy theories. As a result, for more than a year, we are discussing these theories, instead of the real responsibilities for the conflict. I believe we have a duty to learn, at last, in this place to have cooler discussions. Because this is the only way we can contribute to the search for truth, “he concludes and adds:
“Our attitude in the case of Triantopoulos, directly referring to his natural judge, is also a guide to the case of Mr. Karamanlis. We will not get into criminal populism games, nor will we allow further tooling a tragedy. The final decision of the New Democracy is collective and will be taken by the President and the Parliamentary Group, but the direction is that. ” As for PASOK, Mr Hatzidakis argues that “he has made a serious mistake. Article 291 of the Criminal Code, citing, relates to acts with fraud to cause damage to the rail networks. That is to say, the defendant ministers should have, by downgrading the safety of the railway, cause some citizens to death, or accept it at least. The indictment, therefore, reveals a micro -political expediency. And in any case, this tragedy is not offered for small -party games, ”he concludes.
In closing, asked about taking over the duties of the Vice -President, compared to previous government missions, he notes: “The truth is that I was used to taking over a specific ministry and managing difficult missions in this context. Such were, for example, the Olympics earlier and more recently PPC, EFKA, the restriction of tax evasion. For me, then, taking over the duties of the Deputy Prime Minister is still a new mission, certainly different from the previous ones. Because now my responsibility is to coordinate the financial and productive ministries. I feel that I do what dictates my duty to New Democracy. But much more against the homeland. Because on the one hand, we must preserve the progress the country has made over the last six years and on the other hand to continue this great reform effort. And I am happy, because it now seems that the reformation made by Kyriakos Mitsotakis has contributed to the most effective functioning of the government. “
