Kostas Pilarinos passed away at the age of 91

Born in Thessaloniki, Kostas Pilarinos He had studied Political Science, Law, Public Administration at the Universities of Athens and Paris. Post-political, he served as the Prefect of Messinia (1974-76) and the Prefect of Thessaloniki (1976-80), and managed to move the Thessaloniki Metro issue. He also served as Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Technology under the Government of Tzannetakis (1989), spokeswoman for the New Democracy (1989), Secretary General of Press and Information and Press spokesman Mitsotakis (1990-91), Secretary General of the Greek Organization (1990-91). From the position of General Manager of the New Democracy (1992-93) he took over the party’s administration and was elected Member of State in the 1993 elections.

He was still founder and first president of the Macedonian News Agency (1991), a founding member and president of the Thessaloniki Music Association and the Thessaloniki Music Organization (1991).

He has also served as an adviser for Finance and Organization of the Church of Greece and General Manager of his Financial and Technical Services (1998-2008).
