Korydallos prisons: The pistol with the magazine and 8 bullets found buried in the courtyard

ELAS has raised the alarm about it pistol which was spotted on Korydallos prisons to be buried in the courtyard of the penitentiary. The authorities’ investigations are focused on ward number 5 where dangerous criminals are held.

Ward 5 in the Korydallos prison, outside of which, in the courtyard, the pistol with the magazine and the eight bullets was found on October 27, houses prisoners who have been involved in murders or are members of Albanian and Turkish criminal organizations.

The pistol, which is a Beretta type, was found buried at a depth of about 60 centimeters, inside a black bag, together with the magazine and the eight cartridges.

A metal detector was used to locate him, while as it appears relevant information was provided.

Korydallos Security has filed a case file and the investigation continues to establish how the weapon was introduced into the prisons and which prisoners are involved.

Light is expected to fall from the forensic laboratories of ELAS, where DNA and fingerprints are analyzed.

In addition, it will be examined whether the specific pistol has been used in a criminal act or whether it is a “clean” weapon, so the investigations will take a similar course.

The authorities also do not rule out the scenario of a planned escape attempt with possible hostages of prison officials.
