Koronovios – Sarigiannis: Possible new case record in the coming days

For the course of his pandemic coronavirus in our country, the professor of Environmental Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Demosthenes Sarigiannis, spoke on SKAI on Thursday morning (16/9). He estimated that we could see as many as 4,900 cases in a day, but it will be for a day, while noting that the picture of about 40 deaths will not continue.

“We were in decline, we were in a clear downturn about 12 days ago, three to four days ago we had a slowdown in the downturn, and at the moment the weekly moving average is stable, we are still falling, but more slowly,” the professor explained.

Demosthenes Sarigiannis characteristically stated that this is a harbinger of a change in the picture that we expect to see 18 to 20 of the month, with a reversal in an upward trend that can lead to a daily increase of over 4000 – 4500 cases towards the end of the month, while the weekly average will be around 3,500 – 3,700. “And we can see 4,900 in one day, but it will be another day,” he said.

“The good news is that the picture of about 40 deaths will not continue, we will go to the 30-week average, but then by mid-October, we can reach 37, and schools will have contributed due to the transmission at home.”

From now until October 21, Demosthenes Sarigiannis continued, we expect a fluctuation of 30 to 40 deaths per day. I believe that we can avoid it with vaccination as a basic weapon.
