New escalation from his regime Kim Jong Un at North Korea: on Friday (07.11.2025), Pyongyang launched an “unknown ballistic missile” towards the Sea of Japan, South Korea’s general staff announced.
This new ballistic missile test by North Korea’s Kim Jong Un regime comes at a time of rising tension on the Korean peninsula.
Seoul officials said the missile was spotted off North Korea’s east coast, with no details on its range or trajectory yet. The launch came a week after US President Donald Trump approved a plan to build a nuclear-powered submarine for South Korea — a historic “first” for Seoul.

Washington specified that the submarine will be built at the American shipyards in Philadelphia. Nuclear submarine technology, considered one of the most closely guarded military secrets of the United States, offers almost unlimited autonomy and the ability to operate for extended periods below the sea surface, unlike conventional submarines.
Analysts believe that this agreement constitutes a significant leap for the South Korean navy, which will now join the limited “club” of countries that have nuclear-powered submarines. Seoul had previously sought Washington’s permission, as the production of such vessels requires the use of highly sensitive military materials.
Since the failure of the Kim Jong Un-Donald Trump summit in 2019, North Korea has hardened its stance, saying it will never give up its nuclear arsenal and is now an “irreversibly” nuclear power. The new launch is seen as a warning to Seoul and Washington at a time when strategic alliances in the region are strengthening.
