Continuing the offensive that began in 2022, Russia, whose troops are better equipped and have a numerical advantage, continues its slow advance in eastern Ukraine, especially in the Donetsk region, where the fighting has been concentrated lately. At the same time, Moscow has been multiplying its bombings of energy infrastructure and Ukraine’s railway network for weeks, against the background of falling temperatures as winter approaches.

Ukrainian raids often damage oil and gas sector infrastructure and means of transporting hydrocarbons – pipelines, ships, etc. -, which is attributed to increases in fuel prices in Russia.
