Aris Kourkoumelis, son of Tom and Kathy Kourkoumelis is the new Assistant Minister of Commerce and Financial Security at the US Department of Security (Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
According to inkefalonia.gr, the rising homogeneous lawyer from his new position leads DHS’s efforts to identify, evaluate and address national security risks resulting from strategic competition, forced labor, vulnerability in supply chains, foreign investment chains and foreign investment chains.

Who is Aris Kourkoumeli
Aris Kourkoumelis has a rich background in administrative law, international trade and national security. Before joining the Trump government, there was a managing partner in a full -service law firm, providing legal advice on complex regulatory issues, judicial cases and government investigations.
He had also served as a Senior Counsel at the US Department of Commerce (US Department of Commerce), where he led the implementation of the duties referred to in Article 232 (Section 232 Tariffs) and other strategic initiatives in the field of security and trade.
Earlier, he worked for a multinational law firm on complex trade and international trade.
His professional career began as a judge secretary (Clerk) to the then President of the US International Trade, Judge Timothy C. Stanceu. He holds a Masters Degree in Legal (LL.M.) from Columbia Law School and JD degree (JD) from New York Law School.
