The lawsuit was reported by the New Democracy MP by posting on social networks in which he pointed out, inter alia, that “the response to this lawsuit would be catalytic and thoroughly given to where it is appropriate, that is, the competent court”.
The Markopoulos post in detail:
“I have been informed by relevant reports that Mr Kasselakis, leader of the Republic of the Republic- convicted by the Greek justice for violating the law on where you were sentenced to 30 months suspended and 50,000 euros in fine- filed a lawsuit against me. It is obvious that on the part of Mr Kasselakis there is a failure to perceive the true dimension of the meaning of my statements. Let it be.
Everyone, of course, is politicized and acts as he can and can withstand. My attitude, however, remains steadfast: the answer to this action will be catalytic and thoroughly given where it is appropriate, that is, to the competent court. Through the institutional path and with complete confidence in justice, the truth will be highlighted and the law will be attributed, just as the law states. “
Conflict Kasselaki – Markopoulos began after statements made by the New Democracy MP to ERT at the expense of the President of the Republic. Mr Kasselakis reacted with his posts on social media while also sending out to the ND MP, arguing that Markopoulos’s statements go beyond the limits of legitimate political criticism.
