A new chapter in the public controversies surrounding the Tempe case was opened by Nikos Karachaliosformer communications advisor to Prime Ministers Costas Karamanlis and Antonis Samaras, who launched spikes against Panos Kammenosaccusing him of a “tendency towards mythology” and claiming that the former minister’s involvement in the case “turned the balance completely upside down”.
Nikos Karahalios, speaking on “Vergina TV” about the former Minister of Defense, argued that Panos Kammenos has “a penchant for mythology”, noting that this can be pleasant in social life, but dangerous in politics.
“Panos has a penchant for mythology. Where is it pleasant when you hang out socially, but when you mix mythology with politics, things can be thrown into the air and not just trains”, he said characteristically, adding that “from the moment he got involved in the case of Tempi, everything turned upside down”. According to him, the involvement of Panos Kammenos seems to have affected her attitude Maria Karystianouwho, she said, “began to see the WAVE not as a wave that would improve her, but as a wave that would drown her.” Mr. Karahalios also asserted that “Karystianou sued Kovesi, she said she would make a movement and Kammenos, the person who had planned this with her, i.e. me, opposed him”.
Describing the scene as “a strange dipole”, the former associate of the two former prime ministers emphasized that “here we have a dipole of politicians. I and Mr. Samaras are political figures, while there is also a duo of women, Mrs. Karystianou and Kovesi. Until the appearance of Panos, they appeared in the same line, asking for justice. Suddenly, with his involvement, Karystianou turned against Kovesi.”
It is recalled that, in his televised interview on Monday nightPanos Kammenos had left spikes against Antonis Samaras, referring at the same time to the possibility of the return of the Independent Greeks to the political scene. “You know, the oldest profession in the world also has a political version and it is Antonis Samaras, who overthrew Konstantinos Mitsotakis in 1993 and is now coming back to do the same. The former Minister of Defense also claimed that “Samaras is trying to neutralize any force to the right of the ND”, referring to an “unbelievable attack against Mrs. Karystianou”. As he said, “some interests are using Samaras to control the current government or to execute whatever powers they are trying to develop.” He even cited a poll according to which “Karystianou had three times the percentages of Samaras”, arguing that “as soon as this measurement came out, Karahalios appeared in three interviews on the same channel as Samaras, to mess with a mother who lost her child”.
