“Before I get off the step I want to tell you the shocking experience I lived a while ago: because it is another to hear it, another to read it and go to see them. And while because of the many personal friends I have in Cyprus, I have come to your island unofficially and privately, I had never visited – and it is a shame for me – the memories of the prisoners (the imprisoned memories). This image has been nailed inside me. And most of all the way they are executed. “ said Mr. Kaklaman to add: “I wonder how it is possible for Western culture to use such ways to kill children, because children were 18, 19, 20, 21, because they were fighting for the independence of their homeland. So, for them, the heroes and for the others who fell to Attila have the obligation of you and we, to be united and try to achieve the national goal. A free Cyprus, with no troops of occupation. Thank you very much”.
