Journalist Christos Triiris died


Veteran journalist Christos Triiris passed away on Saturday, September 11, at the age of 96, as ESIEA announced today.

Christos Triiris was born in 1925 in Sparta and was a graduate of the Law School of the University of Athens. In 1946 he started working as a proofreader in publishing houses, while in 1950 he began his journalistic career working as a proofreader for the newspaper “Machi”.

He will also work as a proofreader for the newspapers “Kathimerini”, “Avgi”, “Mesimvrini”, “Estia” and “Naftemporiki” from 1961. From 1968 until his retirement he will work at “Naftemporiki” as a financial editor.

Christos Triiris worked tirelessly for decades, adequately covering financial reporting. He was a serious and decent journalist, who worked respecting his colleagues and the ethics of the profession.

The Board of ESIEA bids farewell to the good colleague and deeply mourns his beloved daughter Efstathia.
